I was delighted to be asked to participate in a team photo shoot and compete in a photo competition for Austin Fashion Week….and one step better….the awards and runway show are actually on the ONLY Saturday this summer that I am actually in Austin! YES! Together, our team (we’re called Victorious Secret), is comprised of the fashion design work of Nettie Tiso of Nettie’s Cloth & Ink, the hair sculpting awesomeness of Nina Gay from Urban Betty, the incredible makeup […]
Yesterday I had a rare opportunity for some “me” time…and it was kind of a happy surprise. I had 2 photo shoots scheduled for the day while my son was at school, and they both rescheduled, leaving me with a block of 5 hours to do…something. I could have sat at my desk and edited and finished up some work, but I already planned to be out for the day shooting, and I was going to save some editing time […]
I myself have been entering in a lot of little photography giveaways lately, AND I’ve been placing a lot of canvas orders. I haven’t done a giveaway in a few months so I thought I would go ahead and set up a beautiful canvas giveaway to a lucky Click Chick Images past, present, or future client! To enter, clients simply had to be a FAN on the new Click Chick Images Facebook Fan Page, and leave a comment mentioning why […]
I will be on FIFTY EIGHT planes this season. 58. Holy.Crap. That’s a lot of biscoff cookies and layovers. I will definitely be racking up my frequent flyer miles and HOPEFULLY *fingers crossed* will finally earn the coveted sky lounge status 😉 Peak wedding season varies from city to city, and I am about to embark on a crazy journey of shooting 2 different cities’ peak seasons back to back. Typically ONE wedding season is pretty strenuous on any busy […]
Panic set in full force about 8 hours ago when I began to run through my usual shoot preparation checklist. Batteries charged….check. Lenses cleaned…..check. Flash batteries replaced…..check. CF cards formatted….check. Test shots fired….check. Wait. NO. No check. The shutter was stuck on my D700. No biggie. This has happened before. A simple series of “tricks” helped to “unstick” my shutter like it always did. But wait, now the rear LCD screen was showing me a terrifying display of black and […]
I have been planning today’s photo shoot and promo video filming for weeks…agonizing over color schemes, lighting, finding the perfect location, up to my eyeballs in balloons and feathers…and after all the stress and anxiety I poured into it, I ended up deciding at the last minute to simplify. I stripped the shoot down–WAY down–so the promo would feature me REALISTICALLY shooting a couple. Yes, stylized shoots are lovely, VERY lovely…and they grace the pages of magazines and are gawked […]
I’ve made it NO secret that I’ve been having a website identity crisis. I have been through 4 major website overhauls in the past year! That’s a LOT of change! I finally, FINALLY have managed to create a site that I am SO excited about. I love it. It’s ME. It’s my BUSINESS. So go and check it out! Let me know your thoughts!
A solid mobile browsing experience is MEGA important these days. That goes without saying. I am SO elated to announce that the Click Chick Images website has just gone HTML5 and now offers an identical viewing experience from ANY device–computer, smart phone, or iPad! Woo! A special thank you to my website company, the fabulous SHOWit for working their butts off to get HTML5 off the ground for their subscribers. Yet another reason why I love being a Showiteer!
I am not often a person to make a big deal over any other person. I respect and admire a lot of photography industry greats, but there’s really only ONE photographer that leaves me “starstruck”…Jasmine Star. Although her images are completely amazing, that is not what I’m most inspired by when it comes to this incredible woman. It’s her story, her knowledge, her willingness to SHARE her knowledge, and her genuine personality. I was lucky enough to be one of […]

TA-DA! Photography is an EVER-CHANGING industry. And when I say “ever-changing”, I mean I spend almost as much time tweaking my website, branding, policies, techniques, and overall look as I do shooting and editing! THAT is a huge time investment. About 6 months ago, I launched my new Showit site. It was leaps and bounds more exciting than my previous website and I felt as though it showed far more of my personality than the other boring template site I […]
