It’s back to school time…and while I have mixed feelings on the subject, generally I am excited for what this means for my productivity.
After I’ve hit snooze once or twice and the initial grumpiness has worn off, it’s time to get to work. I am most productive in the early mornings. That was something I found out on accident over the years, and have learned through many business books on productivity and success that it’s not just me. One of the keys to success is waking up early! Yep. It is. To prove it, I have quotes (I’m a quote girl. Deal with it or get off my blog 😉 )
“Lose an hour in the morning, and you will be all day hunting for it.” -Richard Whately
Ooh, that’s a juicy one, isn’t it?! And oh-so-relevant.
My goal each day is to accomplish more in my first 3 hours awake than I will for the rest of the day.
This one makes me think of my dear husband (who is probably ACTUALLY reading this because I added him to my mailing list after discovering he NEVER visited my blog. The nerve.) He eats 3 meals before most people typically have one. Partly because his metabolism is superhuman. But mostly because he’s an early-rising, hardworkin’ fool:“One key to success is to have lunch at the time of day most people have breakfast.“ ~Robert Brault
SO now that school is back in session, I’m back to an actual ROUTINE again rather than just scrambling to make it through the day without much direction, and I’m managing one less child, you’ll be seeing a lot more of me, my work, and my motivational quotes that make some people’s eyes roll.
If you are one of those people who utter with a sigh “There just aren’t enough hours in the day…” (guilty!), I challenge you to recognize that you have just as many hours as everyone else, rise early, work hard, and be successful.
