Bailey + Wilson’s True Texan Wedding! | Austin TX Wedding Photographer

When I had my first consultation with Bailey…I KNEW that this wedding and I would go together like chocolate and peanut better.  This bride and groom knew exactly what they wanted, and what they didn’t want….and it couldn’t have come together to create a more perfect day!  This very well may be the longest blog post I’ve ever done…so sit back, grab your favorite beverage, and enjoy!

We started the day at the Intercontinental Hotel on South Congress where everyone was getting their hair done, makeup perfected, and festive wedding day attire on, all to the tunes of Pandora’s “Vanilla Ice Radio” (which I HIGHLY recommend, by the way…)
Bailey bought all her girls colorful robes and sparkly TOMS to keep them comfortable during their preparation. LOVE! A sweet moment between friends… Wilson and Bailey opted to see each other before the wedding to {YAY}, and I sent my super hunky second shooter off to scout out a spot in the hotel for “the moment”.  He did a pretty amazing job—Wilson saw his bride for the first time in front of the most beautiful set of windows on the balcony of the hotel.WOWZA.It was time to head off to Ceres Park Ranch where the ceremony and reception would be held. This place was right out of a movie….it was PERFECT. The details I’m about to show you are truly only a small snippet of all the hard work that went into coordinating this visual feast. Awesome, awesome, awesome.Super adorable, right!? I ADORE the rainbow colors. Everything was so vibrant and fun!

If the guests didn’t realize by now how truly UNIQUE to Bailey and Wilson this wedding really was…they certainly made the realization once the guys entered the ceremony to Pantera’s “Walk”. THAT was a first…and I LOVED it. This was such a precious moment. Bailey’s niece recited a letter she wrote listing all the reasons that she liked her auntie and uncle. You guessed it…I cried. Sheesh I’m so predictable.  In true Green style, the newlyweds sealed their vows with a kiss followed by an enthusiastic high-five. Portrait time!  This venue was just full of rustic Texas charm around every corner…so we didn’t have to go far!

The bridesmaids were sporting fun and flirty dresses in jewel-tones with cowboy boots, and the guys had ties to match the ladies, fun fabric boutonnieres, and some converse kicks to top off the look. I can’t forget to mention the bouquets of twigs rather than flowers!  Unique through-and-through!

On the property was also a brewery that we were given free reign of. I know, I know…did I hit the photo location jackpot or what?! Portrait time came abruptly to a halt when the skies opened and dumped down some completely expected rain.  The forecast was calling for an 80% chance of rain all day. It sprinkled here and there, POURED for about 45 minutes……and then the sun came out.  Bailey + Wilson scored a DOUBLE RAINBOW on their wedding day. While it rained, guests had plenty to do! Part of the entertainment for the evening included lawn games!Dinner was served….Good ol’ fashioned Texas BBQ!  Ribs, sausage, brisket, beans, mac n’ cheese, cole slaw, pickles, and other southern fixin’s.  I may or may not have consumed my weight in macaroni and cheese that evening. The grand finale.was.the.mechanical.bull. Mechanical bull. Mechanical bull. I keep trying to convince myself that this ACTUALLY happened. It did. I have photos to prove it.

Wow. wow. wow. If that wasn’t a true TEXAS wedding, I couldn’t even imagine what one would be like. These two pulled off such an incredibly fun, intimate, unique, and PERSONALIZED wedding. I died and went to photographer heaven.

But wait, there’s more {I did that in my best informercial host voice}! Check out the wedding highlights slideshow for more Texas wedding amazingness!

CONGRATULATIONS to Wilson and Bailey!!!
